Western Park (5-177) def. Hallora (89): Western Park has claimed an emphatic victory to cement their place as the champion side in Division 1, with a stunning 88-run win over Hallora. Led by an incredible five-wicket haul from Chris Perry, the Warriors were relentless with the ball, and skittled the Kangaroos for just 89. From this position victory for Hallora was nigh on impossible, and although they fought back with a  flurry of four wickets towards the end of day one, there was little they could do to prevent Western Park from taking home the premiership cup. Sanjaya Gangodawila made the most of an early life to punish the Halloran bowlers, and his run-a-ball half-century meant that the Parkers raced towards their victory target. Jason Croft was impregnable at the other end, but had to watch as Gangodawila, Batson, McDonald and Russell departed in quick succession. To the delight of the Western Park faithful, off the final ball of day one Croft whipped Hugo Whitlock off his pads to hand Western Park the victory on first innings – but the Halloran players were keen to attempt a reverse outright on the Sunday. Croft had his stumps disturbed by Mark Cooper early on for 41 to provide Hallora with a sliver of hope, but Zane Harper put paid to any thoughts of an upset from Hallora with a  destructive knock of 44* that soon brought about the conclusion of the game. The win came as reward for some exceptional form from Western Park in the second half of the season, with the batting and bowling units enjoying exceptional seasons. For Hallora, they were just unable to make the most of their form all summer – having made top spot and claiming the one-day flag they entered the grand final as favourites in many people’s eye. However, a poor batting performance cost them dearly, and the Warriors emerged as premiers.
